Orca Bay - Ready for Quilting
My version of Orca Bay, Bonnie Hunter's 2011 Mystery Quilt is ready to be loaded on the quilting machine. The teal blues and oranges/reds are brightly nestling the Ohio Stars -- I love the black and white pieced border the best, which ties it all together. With all of the talk about the upcoming 2012 Mystery hosted by Bonnie , I just had to get my rear in gear and "get-r done".
I am putting the back together, which is beautiful fabric of teals and reds. I will need a close quilting design to hold the pieces together .... so ..... with the busy front, I just might practice a few new quilting designs (especially since they really won't show that much). I have a notebook full of doodles that I can't wait to test.

Everyone who took part in this QAL had such awesome results and yours in certainly no exception! This will be treasured for years to come!! Beautiful! Hugs, Doreen
Yay~~!! Orca Bay is on my Dream Sheet, and sometime in the next 5 years I will make one. Yours is gorgeous. :D
Your Orca Bay is beautiful and your pic inspired me to pull out my blocks and pieces. Wish I was as far as you are, but I'll get there. Thanks for the inspiration!
Your Orca Bay is gorgeous! I'm still turtling along on mine-all the parts are done except for a few string blocks. I hope it looks half as good as yours when I get it done! Congratulations on a great finish.
Hey Jamie, are you interested in purchasing some used DVDs and books about quilting designs? I have lots around and since I've gone computerized they need to find a new home. "E" me if you are interested and I'll take stock of what I'm willing to part with and let you know what I have and the price.
GREAT quilt... how many gazillion pieces are in this one? Love the teals and reds!
It's gorgeous, Jamie! I really love her mystery quilts, but don't have the patience to deal with so many pieces!! So I'll just enjoy yours...... ;-)
Your Orca Bay is beautiful! I love the color changes you made. Mine is still missing the borders and I am hoping to finish up by the beginning of November. I can't wait to stop by and see it all quilted up. :)
