The brightly colored quilt above is my 'Acappella" made with a scrappy collection of batiks. Some of the fabrics were only used once because it was all that I had. I am also determined to use up as much as possible -- batiks are beautiful and expensive -- so I don't want to waste a single one. After the top is done, I will need to go shopping for a border. As you can see, there is no clear theme (except black), so I am anxious to see what color will finish her off.
Like many other quilters, I am hooked on Bonnie Hunter's Quilt Cam -- most of the time I pull out my hand work, which is my least favorite and time just flies by. Bonnie has also announced her new mystery is coming soon, so I pulled out Orca Bay to finish before the next one starts.
On the quilt machine is a special project I have been working on -- I love the combination of Black and Gold, so this one has been fun. As soon as it is done, I will be quilting Orca Bay.
It has been a while since I had something to share on Judy's Design Wall over at Patchwork Times....so I am hurrying over there to link up.

The Acappella quilt is an excellent choice for using up all of your batik scraps. Wow! all of those fabrics just sparkle against the black fabric. It is just beautiful. Very pretty.

WOW! Acappella is fantastic! Obviously you and your quilting machine are good friends already... great shot of the quilting on the black and gold quilt.
Wow, gorgeous as usual, Jamie!! Love the batiks - such a warm looking quilt!
Wow! That is a beautiful quilt on your design wall! And I'm glad I'm not the only one not done with Orca Bay yet! Just finishing one more border and then off to the long-arm quilter. I'm going to let a pro do this one.
Acappella is going to be beautiful. Can't wait to see your black and gold quilt. Love the backing fabric.
Maybe some of that honey/gold out towards the edge? With some of the red? So many choices!!! Lovely all!!!
Great quilts on the go. I just had to come take a closer look at the batik quilt. I am still not done Ocra Bay. I may take it on retreat this coming weekend.
Incredible variety and interest in your new project! I don't have a lot of batiks but they sure can draw me in at stores that have a juicy selection! Love the key print on your black and gold quilt. Hard to believe time for another mystery from Bonnie is almost upon us!
wow what a difference the scrappy look makes. I loved this one in orange, but I dunno, this scrappy version is pretty awesome as well.
Wow! I love it! Gorgeous!
I am anxious to see the black & gold quilt when it's finished.
