Yellow Challenge Progress

Yellow -- not my favorite color -- don't hate it, just don't love it. However, I am having fun with the design wall. I went back to the 2 1/2" strip drawers and found several yellow to gold shades, so I cut several 1/2 hexagons. Then played around with the strip blocks, which will end up being the border. The size of the quilt will be 48" x 48", or 48" x 64 -- depends on how much I accomplish on the tops being quilted.
For those of you interested, Judy Laquidara, Patchwork Times is hosting a monochromatic challenge this year. I cannot wait until the RED month is picked!

That looks like a honey comb! I like yellows but just like you my favorite is red.

Wow, I like the design for this and I'm not a big all over yellow fan either. Nice work so far.

I don't think I even own a piece of yellow fabric. I'm not that fond of it but I love what you're doing with yours.

It is looking really good. I love the way you use string blocks in so many different ways. Same component, but so many different looks.

Love your yellow work. It's amazing that you didn't even need to add another "color" to the quilt to make it work.

Yellow is not my favourite either, but I LOVE what you are doing here.

Very nice! The mix of hexies and strips is interesting. Did you notice that The Modern Quilt Guild's challenge this time is monochromatic?
