The Birthday Girl, Rayna and her grandson Byran. Our parents had all four of us in five years ... and now Rayna is the last to become part of our 50's Club. Although the two youngest live in Texas the other of us in Louisiana, we continue to have a very close relationship. To make it even more special, our cousin Monica (five months younger than I am) drove in from Eagle Lake, Texas to celebrate the induction of Rayna into this very special club.
All this week, I will be sharing the other highlight of our trip to East Texas.... a surprise visit to the Stone Creek Lodge and Quilting Retreat in Kountze, Texas. My niece Kristy has mentioned the lodge on several occasions, however nothing could have prepared me for this. I met the owner, her family and the most amazing quilters who shared their projects and stories with us. I could have stayed there all day!

You are right it is a great top. I love the lodge.
Jamie I get to go to the Stone Creek Lodge this coming weekend for a quilting retreat with Quilts Bayou out of Lake Charles, LA. I can't wait! I've never been here before but everyone is telling me how great it is.
It is wonderful that you are so close. My older sister and I are super close. After years of not seeing each other (due to the military) we live one street apart. We make up for lost time as often as we can.
Sounds like a grand time on your trip and I can't wait to see and hear all about it. The quilt is quite stunning.
the red quilt is fabulous-thanks for sharing
