Christmas Placemats

In 2021, the Fat Quarter Shop offered a mini Christmas Quilt Sew Along which I finished and gifted to a sister.  I was so in love with the trees, I quickly made six more blocks ..... then they sat for a year.  With a push to finish lingering Christmas projects this year, I added a gift box block and made placemats.

My inspiration for color is from a collection of Horizon Blue Vintage Diamond Point Glassware and dessert plates gifted to me years ago.

12 Days of Christmas in July Blog Hop - Placemats

Greetings from South Louisiana and Happy July Christmas!  Our host, Sarah with Confessions of a Fabric Addict has a special group of bloggers ready to help you with your Christmas Gift Ideas.

For those new to my blog ... a little introduction.    For a little over 10 years, I have been one of the quilt pattern designers for Black Cat Creations.  Following my retirement in early 2016 from a long career in Government Finance, quilting and pattern design has taken a front seat.  I can also be found on Instagram, @lfairquilts and Black Cat Creations Facebook page

A SPECIAL TREAT:   In addition to the Placemat Pattern below,  Black Cat Creations is offering a FREE Christmas quilt pattern to all of our Blog Hoppers, called Reindeer Lodge, designed by Jackie Theriot.

Now for the Placemats ....

Keeping it simple –

Ø  Placemats can be gender neutral

Ø  Appeal to all age groups and perfect for “family” gifts.

Ø  Spruce up decor

Bonding opportunities –

Ø  Invite a sewing novice or beginner for a sew day
