Teal Mini Swap

The annual Teal Mini Swap, hosted by EvaPaige Quilt Designs, is their way to help raise awareness of ovarian cancer during the months of July through September.  There is a limit of 500 participants over the United States and Canada, who make and swap either a mug rug or miniature quilt.  From the $15 registration fee, $10 is directly donated to OCRFA, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.

For 2019, Art Gallery Fabrics (AGF) donated the beautiful fabric.  The swappers were required to use this print somewhere in their project (see above).  Lucky for me, I have a HUGE collection of AGF, including scraps dating back to my first purchase at the Houston Quilt Show in 2009.  Every piece used in this mini came from AGF ...... amazing how they all compliment each other, although they came from different collections.

When deciding what pattern or design to use for my project, I immediately went to Joyous.  The main reason, it is named for my mother, Joyce Marie; and the block was perfect to use in a mini quilt.  Along with the Mini Joyous , I gifted my swap partner Elaine, from South Carolina, the dear-to-my-heart pattern, Joyous.

Several of our local guild members have participated in this Teal Mini Swap and have shared their experience.  I am proud to be a part of the Swap this year and see many more in the future.

Sharing and linking up my mini with Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Lovely! Isn’t it great when you get to make quilts and help out with a cause?
