---------------------------------------------
A light bulb went off this past year as to why "Christmas In July" has become so popular. Yes, there is the marketing angle..... BUT .... there are the MAKERS! Quilters, artists, woodworkers and crafters...we have a need to MAKE and we need all the time we can spare.
There is another important angle ... we tend to never get around to making something for "ourselves". As usual, my ideas creep up around Halloween. I will start the project with all kinds of excitement..... then it ends up in the closet. Sad but true.
This project, a Christmas Tree with 3D prairie point limbs, is just for me. I am excited by all the "Christmas in July Hype", so out comes this Farmhouse/Faux Antique project. I can take my time; there are no deadlines, no pressure, no expectations. Perfect!
I finished sewing on the buttons last night and waited for an opportunity to take a final picture. As I make last minute updates to this post, I am watching the weather channel -- yep, Tropical Storm (maybe Hurricane) Barry is coming our way. Hurricane experts are saying up to 20" of rain. All of my quilts are bagged and stored high, just in case.
For the pattern, follow this link and feel free to convert it to a PDF File (PDF button is at the bottom of the page) and save for later.
And don't forget to visit the other blogs below and their scheduled dates!

Hope all is well with you and you came through the storm without too much flooding. I love pinwheels, so I'll need to pin this one (no time right now to start it).

A truly delightful project. I love the tree AND the star in the sky! I really hope you are surviving well and not flooding, but that is a lot of rain to have in a short period of time. Smart you to have prepared the quilts for safety!

Truly lovely, but I am a big fan of low volume rather than brash and bright.
