Thunderbirds Show and Tell

As I begin the wings for a light-medium blue Thunderbirds Quilt -- baby size -- I looked back at my earlier versions.  The Red/White colorway was to be mine, although my husband has taken possession (the guy who loves everything blue).

The blue/white below was gifted to a retiring friend.

This cute pink/white with accents of green was donated to a fund raiser for Breast Cancer Awareness (Loved this one).

The scrappy multi color version headed to Texas to raise funds for my nephews baseball team -- also made a multi-color batik version for the Cover Shot of the pattern, now traveling with Black Cat Creations.

And....if you don't like using scrappy "strings" for the wings, use a stripe fabric.

Indigo Spin, Graduation Quilt

A couple of months ago, while browsing the quilting magazines at Books a Million, I found the Cover Shot of the January/February 2017 Quilting Quickly Fons and Porter Magazine.  LOVE AT FIRST SITE!!!!

The pattern:  "Indigo Spin" designed by Jean Nolte.  I added a little border to expand the size.  Great instructions and easy assembly.  Delivered to my great niece, Alissa for her high school graduation --- so now I can share.

Finished size 58" x 76"

Progress on the design wall

2017 Hands to Help

It started with a shoe box of 3 1/2" nine patches, then I added a cute little fish fabric....too blah, then I added in the pops of colors in the alternating sets!

Then a night of binding while watching TV....done!

Then....off to the Hands2Help/Happy Chemo.  This is my 7th year participating and I look forward to the excitement every year!  Many thanks to Sarah, Confessions of a Fabric Addict and Emily, Ems Scrap Bag/Happy Chemo.
