The orange hour glasses are adding up for the Rainbow Challenge. Although my time is spent quilting tops right now, I am happy to sit every so often and mindlessly sew these little jewels. I still need a table topper for a Fall arrangement .... so this may fit the bill.
Speaking of quilting tops, I am struggling with "ruler work" -- I know practice makes perfect, but uuuggg! I am so impatient. I really need to get this under control, so I will go back and keep trying.
I love the variety of oranges!
ReplyDeleteThat would make a great fall table topper! Can't wait to see what you do with them.
ReplyDeleteThese are really yummy!
ReplyDeleteNice little orange hour glasses. Good luck with the 'ruler work' I struggle as well, I prefer pantograph work and admire people who do such beautiful custom work.
ReplyDeleteSuch a versatile little block. I love how the pinwheels pop up when you put them together. Could be a great little topper.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about ruler work - it looks so nice, but it's hard to slow down enough to do it right! Hang in there, though - it will get easier with practice!! Love the orange hour glasses! Whoop whoop!
ReplyDeleteThis block turns into friendship stars when next to others! Cool.
ReplyDeleteLeeanna at not afraid of color
Ruler work is slow and tedious, but the results can be beautiful. Good luck. Such pretty orange fabrics. They definitely scream fall to me.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the hourglasses will make a spectacular fall table topper.
ReplyDeleteDon't know anything about ruler work. I have to quilt all my quilts on my plain Jane DSM!
Beautiful orange fabrics. They say fall.
ReplyDeleteIt was 55 degrees this morning... fall really WAS in the air! I was in your area last weekend, and Ken R. suggested I try to visit you, but our time was very limited and packed with activities (including the trivia contest at the library on Sunday afternoon). I will really make it a point to connect with you on the next trip to Houma!
ReplyDeleteRuler work... it is a love/hate relationship. I find it helps to add a little bit of "drag" to the machine to keep things under control. I lower the pick-up roller where it slightly drags, and add rice bags to add a little weight. Also, a really good base plate helps. I did not like the one that came with my Gammill so I purchased another one... a bit larger and much easier to take on and off. And wheels... I got Edgerider wheels for my older machine, which really helped. Happy quilting, and happy fall. Hope to see you on my next trip there!
Your hour glasses really are little jewels! Love your selection of colors.
