Quick story -- Every Christmas Eve, those employees who come in to work are given the chance to win a quilt. I have been doing this for several years and enjoy looking back at my fabric choices, the pattern and the quilting style -- which was my machine "stitch-in-the-ditch" phase. The owner of this quilt, Sheila brought it in to have a little rip repaired on the back.

Would you believe, I found the scraps from the pieced backing that I used to make the repair.

Even as far back as 2001, I loved piecing the backs -- and if you look close, the binding is pieced too.
COUNT DOWN TO HOUSTON --- 21 DAYS UNTIL DEPARTURE!!!!!!

Oh, I'm so jealous - you get to go to HOUSTON!!!!!! (I'm assuming it's for Quilt Market...)
And the quilt is amazing - love the pieced back!! Isn't it funny to look back at how we did things "in the beginning".....
