I know...HH's again...I just love this pattern. I made eight placemats for a wedding present from my stash of oriental fabrics. I made an attempt to machine sew the binding on one...well...needless to say, the others were done by hand. Funny how we have a hard time changing some things. I had no problem moving to machine quilting.
Good Friday was a beautiful day down south. Today was a holiday from work and I spent my whole day cleaning. This way, I will have Saturday and Sunday to sew.
For other finished projects, please visit Amy Lou's site for her "Show and Tell Friday". I have already checked out every site and you will love them!

Very pretty, what a wonderful wedding gift. I am with you on the hand binding. I just can't make it look nice with my machine!
these are great. wonderful present
Such a great idea for a wedding present. I can't get my head around doing the binding on machine either.
I love this pattern--inspiration for a swap I'm in. Nice work!
Great wedding gift. I like to get my chores done before I sit down and sew as they then don't guilt me while I sew. I have tried successfully to bind my machine using a tutorial from Red Pepper Quilts blog. I have used it on table runners mainly. Not sure about a bed quilt as I do like the hand finish but for table runners etc I love the machine version.
They are going to really enjoy those place mats. Wonderful fabric choice. I have tried sewing on the binding but I must be doing something wrong because it never works for me. I agree with you, I HAVE to have my chores done so I can enjoy my sewing time. So I'm always after my family to pick up after themselves to make my job easier.
Those are wonderful place mats. Love the hexagons! Thanks for sharing!
These are great! I love hexagons and that method is so much more fun than paper piecing!
