Monday Design Wall

Still quilting tops....the top above came from my son's Christmas quilt leftovers.

My design wall is full. I finished cutting out the half hexagons from the Kaffe 2 1/2" strips using the instructions from a previous post: http://babyboomerquiltingbee.blogspot.com/2010/02/project-for-2-12-strips.html. I still have a drawer full of strips, so I will cut another quilt for sewing later using this same method.

Now I am anxiously off to work. I am sure the energy will still be high all week as Louisiana celebrates the Super Bowl win. The Mardi Gras floats and bands all carried the same black/gold themes here in my town, which will probably go down in history as the biggest pep ralley --- I can only imagine what is going on 50 miles away in New Orleans. Good thing I have my Saints shirts because I will need them all week long!

I love the quilts you are working on, Jamie. We do have the same sewing machine, don't we? Hope you love yours as much as I love mine. I bet you are happy today with that football win! There were lots of excited people on the TV news. :) Take care, Dianne B. in England

I love both quilts you are working on! I'd like to see the one you're quilting in full view.

Your quilts & quilting are both great!! I love every quilt that you've shown on your blog. Just wondering... do you select a pattern & go from there? I like the size of your pieces, variety in colors, etc. Not sure I'm asking what I want to know. I like the size of the pieces that go into the larger blocks. I'm sorta new at quilting & am having trouble selecting the right patterns. Guess I just need to look at patterns closer before buying.
I'm also from Louisiana (about midstate). Great job Saints!!

We were in Houma for the parade yesterday, and planning to do Mardi Gras in New Orleans with friends this weekend. Here's to the Saints win! I'd be worried about the celebration if they had lost..
