Dresden Plate

I LOVE scrappy .... and so did my grandmother, Nana!  Using strips from her stash, mine and exchanges made with friends, this quilt came together with a childhood friend in mind.  Someone who traveled to Texas with my family when we were young to visit my grandparents.

The blocks came together so easily .... especially since I could mindlessly chain piece listening to Netflix shows. The background of light golds and grays gave this project a different look.

As the top came together on the design wall, the border fabric chosen just called to the top.

And here she is -- All Finished!  I think I will call her "Pickles" -- based on a funny little story that my friend and I share from the early 1970's.

Friday Finish -- Whoop Whoop!  Linking up with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

  4. Hello from central Louisiana! Your Dresdens are gorgeous! I agree, the background and border are a match made in heaven. I'd have thought that the many pieces in each Dresden would mean lots more time putting them together, so I'm glad to hear otherwise. Definitely the colors make it interesting and keep the eye moving! Congrats on a beautiful finish!
