Red Finale

It is the last weekend of Reds in the 2014 Rainbow Challenge --- just in time, I have finished all the units and will sew them together. I only had to cut a few additional HST pieces .... it was fun using up what I had. To finish it off, I will add a border ... something from one of the neutral fabrics.

And...I had enough left overs to make a few railfences and a pinwheel.

Red Design Wall

I am finally running out of HSTs pieces -- so I will need to start cutting into the scraps.  This red project is growing slowly, because it is a leader/ender project for a big project I am working on for Black Cat Creations.  So far, the size is 66' x 66'.  If I add a border, it will end up bed size, but I will decide later.

Funny thing...as I work on the Black Cat Creations project, I am accumulating MORE scraps.  Oh well,  I see another scrappy project in the future.

Evolving Reds

Seems I know where this is going...still using up the HSTs from the pile of leaders and enders.  Last year, I made a charity quilt (below) and had mounds of cuttings left over.  As I work through this, I am reminded of my love for reds!

The 2014 Rainbow Challenge continues and I wish the month of Reds would be a little longer.  I still have not touched the 1 1/2" strips.

Red Progress

I had no idea that the red HSTs had accumulated to a stage the whole block could be made.  Each section is 6" finished, which makes the block a whopping 24".  I don't have enough to make 3 more blocks, but I sure am close.  It is a slow process, because I am making a couple of special projects and using this as my Leaders and Enders.

Happy Thursday!

Rainbow Stars

The rainbow stars are almost done...I need to sew the rows together and decide if I want a border.  It is 56" square right now, which is the perfect size for a little one; or a lap quilt.  I have used up a large amount of neutrals filling in the open spaces.  I have put a small dent in the 4 1/2" HSTs and 4 1/2" neutral squares, but still have plenty.

Still Seeing Red

I have made a million HSTs over the last the year as my "Leaders and Enders".  These are 2 1/2" and 4 1/2".  This may not be the project, but I had fun playing on the design wall.  I need to hurry and check in with the other rainbow fun at ScrapHappy === there is a lot of red over there!

Scrappy Saturday

I could play ALL DAY when it comes to HSTs.  I have added Red to my rainbow stars.  This is using 4 1/2" HSTs...I love designing on the wall!

We are half-way through the year with the Rainbow Challenge and I already have enough to finish a quilt top with these.

Baby Quilt Done

Another baby quilt -- finished size 60 x 60.  Graphic colors and large blocks for a baby boy.  This is the second boy born at the office and I still have 2 more on the list in the family.  Busy - Busy quilting.
