Lots of Piecing

My sewing room has been VERY busy!  I have completed 3 quilt tops waiting to be quilted.  Although I can't share yet, the above picture is part of the pieced border of one of them -- lots of strips.

This top used up many of my fat quarters of Orientals -- the back will also be pieced.  I still have a drawer full of this fabric and hope to make a few more scrap quilts.  I can't wait to use up the last of these, they seem to reproduce like rabbits.

And a few family pictures ....

Great nieces Alexis and Jolie (now 3 1/2 months) watching a scary movie -- not really, probably a cartoon, but they both had the same look.

Here is Jolie browsing through the sale papers making her Christmas List -- nothing like starting early. As per mom said -- who needs toys!

Mommy (Samantha) and Jolie getting ready for the day.  Look close at the shirts -- so cute.

I am hooking up at Sarah's today, over at Confession of a Fabric Addict for her Whoop Whoop Linky.

Monday Design Wall -- Blogger's BOM

All caught up -- above is the July BOM, hosted by Jackie at Canton Quilt Works.  This block was designed by Victoria @ Bumble Beans, Inc.
Linking up with Judy at Patchwork Times, then heading to work.  I am going to start working on the applique' this weekend after I sketch up something simple.  I may stick to vines and leaves, with MAYBE a few floral something's.  Applique' is something outside my comfort zone, but I need to start somewhere.

Blogger's BOM Update

Finished June's Block from Pam Kitty Morning (I need to learn and take pictures during the day!).  The Blogger's BOM is hosted by the famous Jackie from Canton Village  Quilts -- who just became a Nationally Certified Judy Niemeyer Teacher. Definitely on my Bucket List!
And Here We Go -- a view of all the blocks just waiting for the final few months.  I am almost finished with the two July Blocks and have the perfect setting in mind -- there is a little applique involved, so I better get started soon.

Today is Friday, so it is time to link up with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict -- who is showing her "Orange You Glad" from  "Black Cat Creations - Blue Me Away".  We now have a Blue, Purple, Pink and Orange version, YEA!  I wonder what color is next?  Maybe Reds, Blacks, Greens -- hmmmmmm.

Quilt Story - BOM Update

July's BOM (a rounded block) is done and is now added to the collection below.  Quilt Story is hosting the BOM which is using up scraps which coordinates with this green fabric.  The August block is due next Tuesday, so I needed to get in gear and catch up.

I have started thinking ahead on how I would set up the blocks.  A couple of ideas are floating around, however I will wait until the end to decide -- actually the colors are starting to look like a Mardi Gras theme and where else except here in South Louisiana can this quilt take on a "party" on its own.
