Monday Design Wall - Dec 13th

I removed the 9 blocks in the bottom right quarter of the Card Tricks to take a picture of the pattern I want to use as the upper left pieced border. I did the same for each of the other three quarters. This way, the card trick blocks are repeated in the border. Using the picture, I started laying out a few of the 6 1/2" string blocks made over the weekend -- see picture below. Stay tuned and I will show you as I make more string blocks.

The String Blocks are fast when you only sew one seam on the foundation paper -- my method shown here. Never thought this would come in so handy. I was already making blocks for my string card trick quilt (needing 144 string blocks) and now I need 60 for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt!

On the right side of the design wall -- 8 1/2" string blocks for Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt Clue #3 -- yes I couldn't help myself, I started them (20 of the required 60). Guess I need to go back and sew Clue's 1 and 2.

Hate to repeat the previous comment, but your use of color is great. It's going to be a very dynamic and dramatic quilt.

Hey...you're already doing the string blocks, so why not jump on the Bonnie bandwagon, lol?

My kind of quilter ... why start a project at the beginning when you can jump in at the middle? That's the way I read books, too! :o)

Love the string blocks. I have not made one for awhile but they are fun (but messy).

When the string block mojo hits, you have to run with it......
Your wall looks fun today.

Jamie that so funny that you made string blocks for the mystery and not sewn one stitch on the previous clues. It crossed my mind too but I conciously ignored it. Love what's happening to your string card trick/

This is really a very sharp looking quilt. I like how the colors pop.

Your neutral string blocks would make a fantastic quilt on their own I think.
